New Ballet, founded in 2016 in San Jose, is the only American Ballet Theatre Certified School on the West Coast, offering exceptional ballet training for ages 2.5 to adulthood and performances that elevate the art of ballet in Silicon Valley. New Ballet is the successor to Ballet San Jose (1985–2016) and has established itself as Silicon Valley's premier ballet institution. As one of only five ABT Certified Schools nationwide, it delivers training through the ABT National Training Curriculum rooted in the Cecchetti tradition. The school's director won YAGP's Outstanding Teacher Award in 2025, and alumni perform with the National Ballet of Canada, San Francisco Ballet, English National Ballet, and the Royal Danish Ballet.
