Colorado Ballet

Colorado Ballet, founded in 1951 by Freidann Parker and Lillian Covillo, is the Rocky Mountain region's premier ballet company. It presented the first full-length Nutcracker in Denver (1961–62), a tradition that continues annually. The company moved into a state-of-the-art 30,000 sq ft facility (the Armstrong Center for Dance) in 2014 and maintains 49 dancers performing over 100 shows yearly. Its community programs bring ballet to low-income neighborhoods throughout Denver.

Colorado Ballet Academy

Colorado Ballet Academy is the official training school of the Colorado Ballet, located at the Armstrong Center for Dance. The academy provides ballet instruction from ages 2½ through adult, from beginning levels through pre-professional training. Its summer intensives draw students from across the region, and its most advanced students have a direct pathway into the Colorado Ballet company.
