Alonzo King LINES Ballet, founded in 1982, is a visionary contemporary ballet company known for its extraordinary cross-genre collaborations with musicians, visual artists, and composers from diverse traditions. King was named a "Master of Choreography" by the Kennedy Center in 2005 and received the Doris Duke Artist Award in 2015. The company produces a minimum of two world premieres each season and has been named one of America's "Irreplaceable Dance Treasures" by the Dance Heritage Coalition.
