Miami City Ballet was founded in 1985 by Toby Lerner Ansin with Edward Villella - a celebrated NYCB principal - as founding artistic director, establishing a strong Balanchine foundation that continues to define the company. MCB maintains an international ensemble of over 50 dancers performing 88 ballets in active repertoire across 75+ performances annually. Its professional school trains the next generation in this same Balanchine-rooted tradition.
