About
Sarasota Ballet, founded in 1987, has built an international reputation under artistic director Iain Webb (a former Royal Ballet dancer, in the role since 2007) for its extraordinary devotion to the works of Sir Frederick Ashton. The company was the first American company to present Ashton's Marguerite and Armand and Enigma Variations, and its acclaimed 2014 Ashton Festival featured 14 ballets. The Margaret Barbieri Conservatory provides pre-professional training, and the company performs at venues including the Kennedy Center, Jacob's Pillow, and the Joyce Theater.
