Ballet 5:8, founded in 2012 by Julianna Rubio Slager and Amy Kozol, is a resident company at Chicago's Harris Theater. In just over a decade, the company has commissioned and premiered more than 50 new ballets, with a particular emphasis on elevating ALAANA (African, Latinx, Asian, Arab, and Native American) choreographic voices. Its Second Company provides a valuable bridge for early-career professionals. Featured in Dance Magazine.
