Giordano Dance Chicago was founded in 1953 by Gus Giordano, widely known as the "Godfather of Jazz Dance." The company made history as the first jazz dance company to tour the Soviet Union (1974) and organized the inaugural Jazz Dance World Congress (1990). Under the artistic direction of Nan Giordano since 2008, the company continues its 60+ year legacy of preserving and advancing the Giordano Technique and jazz dance as an art form.
