Mark Morris Dance Group was founded in 1980 by Mark Morris, whom the New York Times has called "the most successful and influential choreographer alive." The 55,000 sq ft Mark Morris Dance Center in Brooklyn, which opened in 2001, is a community hub offering classes in ballet, modern, world dance, and more for all ages. The organization's school provides pre-professional training while the company tours extensively with its celebrated repertoire.
